Faith Based Grassroots Advocacy for Housing

Rising housing prices in Florida fall disproportionately on “the least of these.” Faith based organizations have historically advocated for those who would not otherwise have a voice: the poor, people with disabilities, and people experiencing homelessness. With the affordable housing crisis facing so many, faith-based advocacy groups and congregations across Florida have placed affordable housing at the forefront of their mission. These organizations have used a variety of strategies to successfully advocate for more funding and better housing policies to support affordable housing. This roundtable session looks at success stories at the local level, as well as models and methods of effective faith-based advocacy.
