Christopher R. Bennett, P.E. is Assistant Director of the Department of Resilience and Public Works for the City of Miami. Mr. Bennett has over 20 years of engineering, construction management, and leadership experience. In addition to providing oversight for the City’s Right-of-Way Permitting and Inspection, Chris also oversees the City’s Stormwater Design and Construction Section, the NPDES and MS4 permit compliance team, and works directly with the Office of Resilience and Sustainability. Prior to joining the City of Miami, Chris served as the Assistant City Engineer for the City of Fort Lauderdale for over 4 years and has over 14 years of experience in private consulting, managing roadway, utility, land development, and stormwater projects from design & modeling through construction. Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Mr. Bennett received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage and has been a South Florida resident since 2003.
