Nate Shultz leads Fannie Mae’s Affordable Housing Preservation strategy and product development efforts under the Duty to Serve mandate. This includes developing innovative approaches to facilitate the growth and utilization of shared equity homeownership programs and exploring new ways to revitalize distressed properties and neighborhoods. Prior to coming to Fannie Mae, Nate was Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for TMS, a mortgage lender and servicer specializing in government lending. At TMS, he managed the company’s relationships with federal agencies and regulators and oversaw counterparty and origination risk management. Previous to his time at TMS, Nate managed single family business and program development at the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, and held leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development/Federal Housing Administration, including Deputy Director of the office that oversees all FHA-approved lenders and Senior Policy Advisor to the Federal Housing Commissioner.
