Melvin Philpot is a Products & Services Manager for Duke Energy in Lake Mary Florida. He is a 35 year career professional specializing in energy efficiency. He is currently the Program Manager for the “Neighborhood Energy Saver Program.” Philpot is also very active with many organizations in the State of Florida and Central Florida community where he serves on the following boards/committees: Area Coordinator, American Association of Blacks In Energy, Florida Chapter; Past Chairman, Board of Directors for the Florida Housing Coalition; Past Chairman, Board of Directors for Rescue Outreach Mission; Chairman, City of Sanford’s Martin Luther King Jr. Steering Committee; Advisory Board, City of Sanford’s Front Porch project; Chairman, Board of Commissioners, Sanford Housing Authority; Sanford Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee; and the Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation.
