Allison Nye is a Florida native who studied Sociology at UCF and has been working in the non-profit field, focusing on poverty and homelessness, for the past 12 years. She works at Central Florida’s Continuum of Care lead agency: Homeless Services Network of Central Florida. There she manages the Coordinated Entry System, which serves the tri county area of Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties, providing access to homeless housing programs for individuals, veterans, and families experiencing homelessness. HSN’s mission as the Continuum of Care’s lead agency is to facilitate a comprehensive and integrated system of services in Central Florida designed to ensure that any experience of homelessness is brief and rare and always honoring people. She lives in Orlando, Florida, with her two young sons and husband. Also her 2 dogs, 4 chickens, 1 tortoise and a boat load of fish.
