Minjee Kim is an Assistant Professor at Florida State University’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning. Her teaching and research focus on the issues around land value capture, large-scale real estate developments, exactions, and the negotiated forms of land use regulations. She explores these topics to identify the ways in which the public sector can guide private investment and real estate development activities to foster a more equitable development outcome. She earned her PhD and Masters from MIT and has multiple years of experience working with local governments, including the City of Boston and Cambridge. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Tallahassee Community Redevelopment Authority’s Citizens Advisory Committee. Her recent article on land use exaction has been published with the Journal of the American Planning Association. She also has published an article on land value capture with Land Use Policy.
