Director of Economic Prosperity
Santos has worked in community and economic development for twenty years. He managed commercial revitalization initiatives in the South Bronx where he helped start merchant associations and implemented street improvement and beautification strategies. He later worked for an economic development nonprofit in Brooklyn managing several business development programs and a women business center. Since 2018, Santos has been the Director of Economic Prosperity at Enterprising Latinas in Wimauma, a rural town south of Tampa. Santos is responsible for implementing community and economic development initiatives at the individual and community levels. Some of these programs include entrepreneurial and workforce development training, a community wi-fi network, and a community plan campaign that seeks to update the area’s comprehensive plan. A native New Yorker, Santos has been living in the Tampa Bay area since 2016. He has a master’s in Nonprofit Management from The New School and is fluent in English and Spanish.
