Terry M. Lovell, head of Bilzin Sumberg’s Affordable Housing & Tax Credit Practice, has more than 22 years of experience and a background as a Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive). He represents developers, investors, and tax-exempt organizations in all aspects of real estate development transactions. He is exceptionally versed in transactions financed with low-income housing tax credits under Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code, tax-exempt bonds, grants, and loans issued by federal, state, and local governmental authorities. Terry regularly prepares and negotiates purchase and sale agreements for these properties. He also handles other subsidized and conventional financing for commercial and multi-family housing developments. Terry has represented clients in various states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Terry received his J.D. from the University of Miami and is fluent in Spanish. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Affordable Housing Section and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
