Wendy Schlesinger is the Director of Community Development for the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners and has over 40 years of experience in federal, state, and local government. She leads the team in the department for the divisions of Building Services, Code Enforcement, GIS Mapping, Housing, and Planning. Previously, Wendy was the Housing Grants Coordinator and SHIP Administrator for Jackson County. She served as Secretary for the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and for the Planning Commission. After Hurricane Michael hit the Panhandle on October 10, 2018, she became the Individual Assistance Liaison for the County. Wendy worked with HUD, FEMA, and the State to offer a Disaster Recovery Resource Fair to help the residents of Jackson and surrounding counties with their recovery needs. She participated in the start-up of the local long-term recovery group; and Wendy continues to help residents with their individual and housing needs today.
