SALON 7/8

Ending Homelessness Among Youth and Young Adults Forum

In 2018, on a single night, nearly 1,900 unaccompanied youth were counted as homeless. Youth who have experienced trauma and family conflict often find themselves in a homeless crisis. This forum will bring together the national, state, and local community experts to discuss how to prevent and end youth homelessness. The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness will talk about the federal perspective on ending youth homelessness and how local communities are successfully responding to this important issue. Local communities will discuss participating in a 100-Day Challenge and how it helped move the needle on youth homelessness in their community. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from an expert panel discussing strategies, guidance, and innovative solutions to make homelessness rare, brief, and one-time among youth in our communities.
